S., Greenville; grad. Business College, Greenville. ,1890; law course Cumberland Univ., Lebanon. Tenn.; admitted to practice Law. Greenville, Texas, 1894;  came to New Mexico, 1895, locating In Lincoln County; secy. Angus V V Ranch Co.. Lincoln County. 1897-1902; 1902 moved to White Oaks and entered partnership in law with Judge John Y. Hewett, continuing in that partnership ever since; mem., N. Mex. H. of Rep., 1907; delegate In Dem. National Convention, Denver, 1908.
