JAMES G. FITCH, attorney (Dem.) delegate Socorro Co.; b. Dec. 26, 1856, Cleveland, Ohio; s. of James and Elizabeth (Sanborn) Fitch; early educ. pub. schools Cleveland; grad. Western Reserve College, Hudson, Ohio, June, 1881; removed to Denver, Colo., 1881; came to New Mexico, 1882, locating in Grant Co.; engaged in mining and ranching until 1886; admitted to practice law in New Mex., 1885; located in San Marcial in practice of law, 1886; the U. S., trustee New Mexico School of Mines Socorro, 1893-7 and 1909-11; pres. New Mex. Bar Assn., 1904; mem. 33rd. deg. Mason, Scottish Rite, Past Grand Master New Mexico.
