Christian Brothers schools, Taos and Mora; Presbyterian Mission, Taos, 1878-9; began clerking in stor of brother, 1880; hay contractor for government, Fort Union, 1882; removed to Taos again, 1890; deputy assessor, Taos Co., 1890-1; county school supt., 1893; House of Rep., 1897; N. Mex. senate, 1899-1901-1903-5-7; terr. coal oil inspector, 1909-11; mem. and vice-pres. board of regents for Spanish-American Normal school at El Rito; has represented the territory on 17 commissions to congresses; etc; heavily interested in farming and stock-raising; mem. Elks, K. of P.; Republican candidate for lieutenant-governor first state campaign.
