St. Johns and Montreal, Canada; Business  College. Montreal; engaged in ship brokerage and merchandising business in Montreal, 1880-4; removed to N. Y. City 1884, and engaged in dry goods business until 1886; came to New Mexico, 1886, locating in Fort Stanton, Lincoln County; employed there in general mdse. store until 1892; removed to White Oaks, 1892; mem. Taliaferro Merc. Co., 1892-6; in bus., Nogal, 1896-1902; in Carrizozo, 1902-11; as manager The Carrizozo Trading Co.; pres. First Nat. Bank, Alamogordo, 1911; County Treasurer and Collector, Lincoln County. 1905-71.
